Imperial Tie Fighter by stourangeau Imperial Tie Fighter by stourangeau
Along with the dropship commissions Andrew Collins also wanted a Imperial Tie Fighter.
I decided to get this one out of the way while taking a break form working on the dropship.
I kinda liked working on this since Star Wars was and is my first passion even over Trek.

The profile shot with the missing wing reminds me of this Tie-Fighter toy I used to have where you could take the wings off, there was a button to do it, it was actually spring loaded if I recall correctly.

Great art.

Good luck with that. You'd think with as many current and ex Disney people here on DA one of them might stumble on you eventually.

Someone should do a less villainous New Republic TIE Fighter. Assuming there will actually be a new Republic.

Actually there are a few comics set in the early Rebellion era that have them flying TIEs with the Rebellion hawk on the panels, and a few novels have TIEs and Interceptors as part of a mixed squad.

I don't think the New Repiblic adopted the Tie Fighter. I know the Imperial Remnant kept using them and the later models into the Legacy Era. By that time the really changed.

Even up to Starfighters of Adumar the New Republic does use the TIE series, equipped with shield generators, in a limited capacity as they don't have enough of their iconic designs (X-Wing, Y-Wing, A-Wing, and so on and so forth)to go around.

Pardon that last comment, I was thinking of the Eta-2 Actis.

Maybe an Old Republic TIE, then? I don't know, it just looks so purposely villainous, I'd just enjoy seeing one made for good guys.
That ARC thing from Ep.3 looked like a TIE engined fighter to me, with collapsing ion sails.
